About the Event

This concert has been rescheduled from May 1 to November 13. All tickets have been transferred. (*See below.)

Welcome to the sparkling sounds of Duo Catalina, with flutists Andrea Graves and Jeannette Moore, principal flautist of the Arizona Philharmonic.

Be dazzled by everything from Bach to Broadway and Celine Dion to the Southwest while enjoying the Duo’s relaxed and engaging concert style. Incorporating both the brilliant sound of two flutes as well as the rich, full pairing of flute and alto flute, Duo Catalina is not to be missed.

Andrea Graves currently performs with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra, Ponderosa Players, Duo Catalina, and new music concerts for the Northern Arizona University School of Music. As Associate Director of the NAU Student Service Center, Andrea is committed to student success and setting a new standard of customer service in campus navigation for Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and the Registrar. As a flutist, Andrea has performed throughout the United States, in Central America and in the United Kingdom as a Yamaha Performing Artist. Her Progress Press publications feature new works for alto flute and piano and her recordings are with Crystal Records and Mark Moore Productions. She has performed at numerous Conventions of the National Flute Association and is currently a member of the Low Flutes Committee. Her previous faculty appointments include Western Illinois University School of Music, Texas Wesleyan University, Oklahoma Arts Institute, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and Interlochen Arts Camp. She holds degrees from Texas Tech University (BM), The Juilliard School (MM), and The University of North Texas (DMA).

Flutist Jeannette Hirasawa Moore has appeared as soloist with the Toronto Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Ensemble Sir Ernest MacMillan and Hart House Orchestra. Originally from Canada, Jeannette lived in Toronto where she performed as principal flute of the Toronto Pops Orchestra, Toronto Operetta Theatre, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, and Toronto Philharmonic. She received both her Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees in Performance from the University of Toronto and studied with Douglas Stewart and Robert Aitken. In 1995 she toured the Far East with The Phantom of the Opera. Jeannette has served as Principal Flute of the Flagstaff Symphony since 2013, is also principal flute of the Arizona Philharmonic and Verde Valley Sinfonietta and performs with the chamber groups Ponderosa Players and Duo Catalina.
